Research: Commuter cycling & Health
Too many people in our Western society are physically inactive. One possible way of being physically active is to cycle to work on a regular basis. This research line looks at the positive (health promotion of physical activity) and negative (effect of air pollution and traffic crashes) effects on cycling for transport on health. Bas is recently also involved in 'Citizen science' projects that establish the link between academics, politicians and citizens. The aim of these projects is to see how we can improve air quality and liveability together.
