Research: Exercise, nutrition and brain in health and disease.
Physical inactivity and a sedentary lifestyle are highly associated with the development of several medical conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, cognitive dysfunction, and others. Accumulating evidence suggests that diet and lifestyle can play an important role in delaying the onset or ceasing the progression of age-related health disorders and can improve cognitive function. Exercise has been advocated as a possible prevention for neurodegenerative diseases and has a positive influence on cognition.
In this way, one cannot deny that exercise and nutrition are both important means to influence the brain.
