Douglas Jones
Doug Jones is a PhD student at the human physiology research department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and at the San Diego State University, USA.
His research mainly focusses on the Influence of Repeated Cold Water Immersion on Spontaneous Rewarming, Exercise Tolerance, and Heat Stress
Exposure to cold environments is commonly experienced by military personnel, outdoor recreationists, athletes, and individuals working in austere environments. Cold stress can contribute to decrements in physical and mental performance and make interaction with this environment very challenging. This line of research will investigate physiological and cognitive functions during repeated exposures to cold water followed by spontaneous rewarming, and examine the influence that cold acclimation has on exercise performance and heat tolerance.
